We got the dog spayed this weekend. It seems kind of ironic – as I breed, I’m taking away my furbaby’s ability to breed. But, in all reality, who wants a litter of husky puppies?! Not me!
In other news, only six more weeks until my estimated due date!
Week: 34 – 85% done!
Due date: April 16, 2013
Symptoms: I’m hot all the time and get heartburn intermittently.
Feeling: Excited! When can inside baby become an outside baby? Soon? Plz?
Cravings: Fruit and anything cold. Cold water, juice, etc feels good when my heartburn starts acting up.
Aversions: Depends on the day, but nothing has been very strong.
Sleep: Not a whole lot of that. Sleeping makes me achey, and I don’t sleep through the night very well anymore.
Health: Still good!
Baby’s size: Around 4 3/4 pounds and almost 18 inches.
Weight gain: 27 pounds. Only a few more weeks to go, and these are big growth weeks, so I’m trying not to be concerned.
Movement: Lots of movement. She keeps flipping from breech to not and back again. Tonight, she’s sideways, headed back to head down.
Stretchmarks: Still no new stretchmarks to report.
BabyCenter Update: Her fat layers — which will help regulate her body temperature once she’s born — are filling her out, making her rounder. Her skin is also smoother than ever. Her central nervous system is maturing and her lungs are continuing to mature as well. If you’ve been nervous about preterm labor, you’ll be happy to know that babies born between 34 and 37 weeks who have no other health problems generally do fine. They may need a short stay in the neonatal nursery and may have a few short-term health issues, but in the long run, they usually do as well as full-term babies.
Today marks week four of waiting to hear from the Surgeon General. We haven’t heard back from Staff Sargent yet today, which either means he heard from the SG today or he’s home sick with something. We’re hoping that he heard from the SG, obviously!
I’ve got the next two days off from work to try and get stuff done at home. I have packing, sewing, and inventorying to do! I’m going to try and get as much done as possible since we move in just three weeks, and I’m thisclose to d-day.
We started sanding our nursery furniture so we can stain it, too. Tomorrow night we’re going to get the first coat of stain on so that we can have everything ready in time for baby.
I’ve been hoping to get some solid guidance on crib mattresses. Does anyone have any preferences or suggestions? We love our foam mattress, but apparently babies should have firm mattresses? I’m not sure. Leave me a comment! Hopefully I can settle on a mattress soon.
